Spreader boot in leather from Waterline Design. A leather protection for your sails. Your sails are one of the most expensive part of your sailboat. You need to protect them. According to large mast suppliers the spreader tip is supposed to be soft so the sail doesn't chafe unnecessarily. Our combination of outside leather and inside neoprene padding makes it's perfect. In addition, they are also easy to mount. Just wrap the Velcro band around the spreaders. The Velcro is also covered with leather for the best UV-Protection. The softness and Velcro band makes them soft and easy to fit on all kind and brands of spreader. With only four different sizes, it's easy to choose the right spreaders for your boat. You need to measure the width of the spreaders. Measure them in the middle not the tip. You also need to know if you have continuous rig or linked rig. A linked rig has larger spreader tips and need a larger size. This is not 100% scientific but with flexibility in the spreader boot works perfect, it's easy and simple. With the Velcro band it's fast and easy to mount the spreader boot, done under a minute, even the first time. Plus it's super easy to remove for inspection of the rig. An inspection of the rig should be done at least once a year. The leather covered Velcro band is sewed so you can cut it to a appropriate length. The spreader boots are sold in pairs.
